All-on-4 FAQ

With over 30 years' experience, and using the very latest in digital technology, Brener Clinic

will provide you with the best possible outcome for your All-on-4 implant treatment.

Am I a candidate for All-on-4?

If you are currently wearing dentures, or will need dentures in the future, and you are in good health, you are a candidate for All-on-4. Determining your candidacy for dental implants is based on the results of a consultation and examination of your teeth and mouth, and Cone Beam CT scans of your jaw bone, Digital impressions and photographic and video imaging, to allow Digital Smile Design of your final smile and the All-on-4 procedure.

It is rare for a medical condition to interfere with your ability to have this procedure. If you or Brener Clinic have concerns about any health issues, we will contact your GP medical team of doctors and specialists to determine if your health will allow this procedure.

If Brener Clinic determines you are not a good candidate for All-on-4 because of health concerns, we can recommend alternative treatment options to meet your needs.

What is the success rate of All-on-4?

Published studies show a ten year 98.2% success rate using All-on-4 in the lower arch, and a 94% success rate on the upper arch.

Will All-on-4 give me a natural-looking result?

Brener Clinic is a certified Digital Smile Design Clinic (DSD). We will digitally design your final smile to ensure that you are pleased with the size, shape, colour, proportion, and comfort of your new teeth. Our patients tell us that their new teeth are more beautiful than their permanent teeth ever were.  Our goal is to ensure you are confident with your new smile.

How does All-on-4 compare with traditional implants?

All-on-4 uses only 4 implants in one arch. Traditional implants need anywhere from 5 to 8 implants in one arch.

The posterior implants of the All-on-4 procedure are placed at an angle, allowing for increased bracing and strength by using greater volume of your existing bone.  Traditional implants often require bone grafting, a process that can take 6 months or more to heal. All-on-4 needs no bone grafting for most patients, and has extremely high clinical success rates.

All-on-4 is designed to reduce surgery and discomfort, as well as save you time and expense.

Why don’t I receive my permanent set of teeth the day my  implants are placed?

Because of the exacting laboratory procedures needed, it takes 1-2 days to receive your All-on-4 bridge. The bridge will be a hybrid of the latest acrylic teeth and pink injection moulded resin. This allows for the healing of the implants and any corrections to speech or aesthetics that you may need. This first bridge will also act as a “spare” in case there are ever problems with the final bridge in the future. The bridge is upgraded to a ceramic or CAD cam manufactured hybrid type bridge after 5 months, once the integration of the dental implants is complete.

How soon will I be able to go back to work after receiving All-on-4?

The specific amount of time needed to rest after your procedure will be carefully determined by Brener Clinic. Recovery times vary from patient to patient but most patients return to work and resume normal activities in about three to four days after their procedures.

What should I eat immediately after my All-on-4 implant procedure

During the recovery period, you will be given specific instructions on which foods to eat and which foods to avoid. You need to be on a soft diet to prevent overloading the implants during the first 5 months. The rule is: if you can cut it with a plastic fork you can eat it! So pastas, fish, chicken (off the bone) – a healthy and tasteful diet is entirely possible.

Brener Clinic will provide you with an easy to follow diet designed to allow the implants to heal uneventfully.

Will I be comfortable during and after my All-on-4 procedure?

Brener Clinic takes great care to ensure our patients' comfort during and after procedures. Prior to the procedure you will be placed on a pharmacological drug regime that will minimise any post-operative discomfort. For the All-on-4 surgery, you will be sedated by a highly qualified medical specialist. Thus you will have no memory of the procedure. Medication will also be prescribed to reduce swelling and minimize any discomfort after the procedure.
